It’s completely normal to feel nervous before your first appointment. You may be wondering: What will they find? Will I need a lot of tests? What happens next?
At SCFC, our goal is to replace anxiety with understanding. We take the time to explain every step, so you’ll always know what to expect and why each part of the process matters. Many patients tell us they leave their first visit feeling relieved — because they finally have a plan and a team that cares.
What Happens During Your First Appointment
Your first visit is a comprehensive consultation designed to give us a clear understanding of your unique situation — and to give you the clarity and confidence you deserve. Here’s what you can expect:
A Thoughtful Conversation
You’ll have plenty of time to share your story, medical history, and goals. Dr. Foyouzi listens closely — she knows that understanding your experience is key to providing the right care.
A Review of Your Health History
We’ll review your medical background, past treatments (if any), and any previous test results. If you’re visiting as a couple, both partners are welcome to attend and participate.
Initial Testing (if needed)
Depending on your situation, Dr. Foyouzi may recommend an ultrasound, bloodwork, or other simple diagnostic tests that can often be done on the same day. These help us identify potential causes of infertility or reproductive challenges.
A Personalized Care Plan
Before you leave, you’ll have a clear understanding of next steps. Dr. Foyouzi will outline a customized plan based on your goals, age, health, and timeline — whether that includes further testing, treatment options like IVF or egg freezing, or genetic guidance.
How to Prepare for Your Visit
To make the most of your first appointment, you may wish to bring:
Copies of any recent medical or fertility records along with your state license
A list of medications or supplements you’re taking
Any questions or concerns you’d like to discuss
Your partner or support person, if you’d like them present
